Cluck, cluck, cluck

Ok, so I am totally not getting enough time to keep up with my blog. I do want to. I just can’t magic any more hours into the day.

But I wanted to write a wee quick post about my sister’s hen party, which was held a few weeks ago. It is only one week until the entire family flies to Turkey for their wedding, and boy is the excitement building around here! There’s wedding outfits bought, summer clothes ready to pack, new shoes and swimming costumes being purchased and a real air of excitement with the kids.

I think M’s hen do was good craic! We all met at the Hilton in Belfast where we were taken by limousine to Mums country house.

Mum had a butler, waitress and an Iranian chef waiting for us. The butler and waitress spent the entire evening making cocktails for us girls, whilst the chef made the most beautiful meal. It was such a treat.

The following morning we headed down to the Farnham Estate hotel and spa for some pampering.  Each of us had a luxury treatment and lounged around the pool for the day.  In the evening we all enjoyed a lovely meal together.  The food really was absolutely gorgeous. Like art!  Too pretty to eat.

After our meal we were directed to ‘The Boudoir’ – the most amazing pink, gothic room. We opened the wine, played some games and then got M dressed up in a ridiculous outfit, and paraded her down to the hotel bar. Poor girl.

It was a memorable weekend and I hope M enjoyed herself. I know a lot of thought, time, money and effort went into it. But what fab memories! Now it’s time to prepare for the wedding. Bring it on Turkey!

It was a most fabulous weekend! For some reason people seem to have the impression that I didn't really enjoy it. What crazy nonsense!! It was most definitely a weekend to remember and what great stories...the whole pub stopping to sing to us...having a most surreal conversation with the people in the dungeon...excellent treatments....beautiful Iranian food...my first ride in a limo...singing a duet with the singer in the pub...wonderful cocktails...excellent company and as you say, so much thought, time and money went into it.

The only downside for me was that I have been so stressed about everything that I only started to relax on day 2!!! Spa was just what I needed then!
